Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta Honors First Len Phillipps Scholarship Recipient

The Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta held the Len Phillipps First Semester Scholarship Award Ceremony on July 23, 2026, honoring Harrison Keenan as the scholarship’s first recipient.

During the ceremony, the club awarded Harrison a $4,000 scholarship to help cover his college tuition and related educational expenses.

The Len Phillipps Scholarship was established to celebrate the legacy of Len Phillipps, an esteemed member of the club who was widely respected for his lifelong commitment to leadership, education, and community service. Mr. Phillipps believed deeply in the power of education to create opportunities and strengthen communities.

Throughout his years of service, he worked tirelessly to support students and encourage young leaders. His dedication was especially evident through his support of the Georgia Tech Circle K Club, where he helped inspire college students to serve others and develop as community leaders.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for the Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta as members recognized Harrison’s achievement and the beginning of a scholarship tradition intended to carry Mr. Phillipps’ values forward.

Harrison’s parents attended the ceremony to celebrate the honor. Barbara Phillipps, Len Phillipps’ widow, was also present, making the occasion especially meaningful for Harrison, his family, and club members.

“We are proud to recognize Harrison Keenan as the first recipient of the Len Phillipps Scholarship,” Tom Jones, Chair of the scholarship committee said. “This award reflects Len’s belief in education, leadership, and service, and we are honored to continue his legacy by supporting deserving students.”

Through the Len Phillipps Scholarship, the Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta remains committed to expanding educational opportunities and encouraging young people to become thoughtful, engaged leaders in their schools and communities.
